Dries Van Noten comes from a family of tailors. His grandfather was a traditional tailor, and his father owned a menswear store. This third-generation heir has consistently interpreted the simple beauty of femininity with his own unique style. Nostalgia, folklore, color, and layering are Dries Van Noten’s hallmarks. Subtle prints and detailed designs are his primary focus, with ethnic floral patterns being his particular favorite. He excels at combining different materials, fabrics, and patterns in a striking contrast between simplicity and complexity, employing a variety of techniques. The resulting blend is the hallmark of Dries Van Noten’s naturally inspired designs.

This piece is truly versatile. It can be worn street-style like a traditional bomber, or dressed up with a shirt or trousers. (I think the color combination of the DVN cuffs and hem ribbing is really comfortable and elegant.)

The outer fabric is custom-made from G woolen, and the lining is also high-density. It’s a perfect little padded jacket for southern winters, perfect for layering over a sweatshirt. The ribbing is custom-dyed in the original beige color. For a high-quality look, we used thicker yarn instead of using off-the-shelf stock. The ribbing density and stretch are identical to the original.

As for the hardware, the collar chain is custom-made, which takes a long time and is expensive. The two riri M zippers are also custom-made. We didn’t save money, nor did we prefer low-quality off-the-shelf stock. The zipper alone costs a lot, but the quality is palpable right from the moment you get it.
