Carhartt’s “Old is Beautiful” jacket features a washed, distressed finish. The silhouette features a fitted shoulder, a short body, a fitted waist, and wide, slightly longer sleeves, creating an inverted triangle shape when viewed from the back.
These common features of American jackets are perfectly captured and amplified in the Detroit Jacket.
The J jacket uses a sand-washed canvas fabric, rather than the original canvas used on the Z jacket. This ensures durability while also enhancing softness and comfort. The collar is also made of the same sand-washed canvas as the main body, rather than the corduroy collar used on the J jacket. However, the comfort is just as good. The chest logo is a dark brown square leather patch, not the white “yellow moon” logo on the J jacket.
